Emirates, Qantas Airlines Let You Call In Flight

Qantas and Emirates will spearhead the brave new world of in-flight cellphone use. Qantas has been testing cellphone usage on an aircraft for nine months. They studied passenger reaction to cellphone use as well as if email and texting interferes with flight technology. Apparently, there are no problems both on the technological and human side. Meanwhile, Emirates, is not only allowing passengers to email and text using their cellphones, phone calls are actually permitted during flights. In-flight calls will be pricey at $2 a minute as phone calls will be operating using satellites. Emirates will restrict calling, however, especially on overnight flights.
